Women’s Ministry
The North Church Women’s Ministry exists to spread a passion for the supremacy of God in all things for the joy of all peoples through Jesus Christ. We long for women to treasure Christ in all of life, finding ever-increasing joy through seeing more clearly and knowing more deeply the glorious triune God revealed in scripture, and embracing with assurance the great gospel hope offered us in Christ.
Our Women’s Ministry theme for 2024-25 is God of Hope: “May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope” (Romans 15:13).
With dozens of vendors and hundreds of handcrafted items, this is the perfect opportunity to support individuals and families in The North Church community, enjoy the festivity and fellowship, and purchase meaningful gifts.
Women’s Ministry sponsors this event with the following goals in mind ...
* To support our church families as they use their gifts of creativity to bless us, their own families, and various ministries and missions.
* To provide opportunity for families and friends to enjoy a time of fellowship and to do some early Christmas shopping.
* To offer meaningful Christmas gifts at affordable prices.

Judges: Who Will Save Us?
Who will save us? Oppressed by enemies, Israel turned to pagan gods, to neighboring nations, to strong men with bad morals, to cowardly men with good pedigree, and to a wise woman for salvation. They fled to tall towers, hid in caves and mountains, and made unthinkable vows in desperate attempts to save themselves. Having forgotten their covenant God, Israel was willing to turn anywhere but to the only one who could truly save them.
Out of the bleak landscape of Judges, God raised up colorful characters and deeply flawed heroes to save his people. But vibrant as those characters were, the true hero of the story is the Lord himself who heard the groans of his faithless people, pitied them, and powerfully intervened to save them from disasters of their own making.
Who will save us? The judges illustrate that apart from the Lord, no one can save.
For the Lord is our judge; the Lord is our lawgiver; the Lord is our king; he will save us. —Isaiah 33:22

Rope Holders
Rope Holders typically meets every second Monday at 7pm from September–May. We seek to “hold the ropes” for those sent out for the sake of the name of Jesus, bringing their needs to God in prayer.
Why “Rope Holders”? William Carey, often called the father of the modern missions movement, had a dear friend, Andrew Fuller, who believed that every Christian was commanded to spread the gospel, and some were called to do so cross-culturally. Before leaving for India, Carey famously told Fuller, “I will go down into the pit, if you will hold the ropes.” And the global partners that we send out are also sustained and enabled by God’s grace as the “rope holders” back home pray for them!
You will do well to send them on their journey in a manner worthy of God. (3 John 1:6-7)
For I know that through your prayers and the help of the Spirit of Jesus Christ this will turn out for my deliverance. (Philippians 1:19)

Titus 2
New groups launch each September—contact us for more information.
In response to the biblical mandate of Titus 2:3–5, we support the discipleship ministry of the church by calling women to establish godly mentoring relationships that will encourage and equip them to live for God’s glory. In Titus 2 groups, one or two older women lead a group of younger women, meeting once a month, through a book study or a focus on a wide variety of skills or topics.
For this reason I bow my knees before the Father, from whom every family in heaven and on earth is named, that according to the riches of his glory he may grant you to be strengthened with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith--that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may have strength to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.
— Ephesians 3:14–19
