Women’s

Ministry

The North Church Women’s Ministry exists to spread a passion for the supremacy of God in all things for the joy of all peoples through Jesus Christ. We long for women to treasure Christ in all of life, finding ever-increasing joy through seeing more clearly and knowing more deeply the glorious triune God revealed in scripture, and embracing with assurance the great gospel hope offered us in Christ.

Our Women’s Ministry theme for 2025-26 is Behold and Become: ā€œAnd we all, with unveiled face, beholding the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another. For this comes from the Lord who is the Spiritā€ (2 Corinthians 3:18).

Women’s Summer Bible Study

The Summer in the Psalms Study will lead us through seven of the Psalms of David. It is an opportunity to continue to examine the life of King David, following our study of 1-2 Samuel from this winter. We will be led in worship by King David as he reveals his heart responses to the ways God is at work in his life. David, described as "the sweet psalmist of Israel," wrote many of these psalms during intense life events, including his time as a fugitive from Saul and during his own reign. These psalms were used for worship in the Temple and serve as models for worship and prayer for us. They reveal many of David’s emotions - fear, joy, despair, and faith. As we study, we will worship our God who is the Righteous Judge, Sovereign King, and Loving Protector. May we say with David, ā€œOh, taste and see that the Lord is good!! Blessed is the man who takes refuge in Him!ā€œ Psalm 34:8.

Our 6-week study will run June 16 & 17 through July 21 & 22 with the following options available:

  • Tuesday evenings, 7–8:30 pm

  • Wednesday mornings, 9:45–11:45 am

  • Independent Study

Registration will open in May.

ā€œOh, taste and see that the Lord is good!! Blessed is the man who takes refuge in Him!ā€œ —Psalm 34:8

  • Rope Holders

Rope Holders typically meets every second Monday at 10am from September–May. We seek to ā€œhold the ropesā€ for those sent out for the sake of the name of Jesus, bringing their needs to God in prayer.

Why ā€œRope Holdersā€? William Carey, often called the father of the modern missions movement, had a dear friend, Andrew Fuller, who believed that every Christian was commanded to spread the gospel, and some were called to do so cross-culturally. Before leaving for India, Carey famously told Fuller, ā€œI will go down into the pit, if you will hold the ropes.ā€ And the global partners that we send out are also sustained and enabled by God’s grace as the ā€œrope holdersā€ back home pray for them!

You will do well to send them on their journey in a manner worthy of God. (3 John 1:6-7)

For I know that through your prayers and the help of the Spirit of Jesus Christ this will turn out for my deliverance. (Philippians 1:19)

  • Titus 2

Are you looking for an older woman or two to disciple you, pray with you, and encourage you in your faith?

In response to the biblical mandate of Titus 2:3–5, we support the discipleship ministry of the church by calling women to establish godly mentoring relationships that will encourage and equip them to live for God’s glory. In Titus 2 groups, one or two older women lead a group of younger women, meeting once a month, through a book study or a focus on a wide variety of skills or topics.

For this reason I bow my knees before the Father, from whom every family in heaven and on earth is named, that according to the riches of his glory he may grant you to be strengthened with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith--that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may have strength to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.

— Ephesians 3:14–19
