Marriage is designed by God to be a parable of his awesome love for his people. That's why we take marriage and preparation for marriage so seriously at The North Church. We want you to experience the profound joy that comes from a God-centered marriage and want to do everything we can to make this process as easy as possible.

Every couple interested in having their wedding or wedding reception at The North Church should submit a Wedding Request Form. Once you have submitted the form, you will be contacted for confirmation.

You should know ...

• We have several pastors available to perform weddings.

• Weddings must align with our Church Covenant and Relational Commitments.

• We do offer and require pre-marital counseling. It may be done by one of our pastors or another qualified counselor.

• If someone other than one of our pastors performs the ceremony, the couple must first meet with one of our pastors who will sponsor the ceremony in our building.

• Part of the fee charged for being married at church covers a Wedding Coordinator, who will meet with you, help to plan the ceremony as needed, and serve as a reference point for the details of your ceremony.

• We place some limitations on wedding times, such as no later than a 1pm start time on Saturdays. We also primarily limit weddings to people who are part of our community.

• Your request will be received by Marianne Derfus, our wedding point person. She will gather pertinent information and connect you with those who can help with other details.

Will a Pastor Conduct the Service?

Yes. We’ll do our best to see that the pastor you choose is available to conduct the funeral service.

Can I Use The North Church’s Facilities?

Yes. As best we can, we try to give funerals for church members first priority for facility use. However, at times, due to previously scheduled commitments, options may be limited.

Is There a Fee?

If the service is for a member of the church or his/her family member, there will not be a charge.

Can I Share a Condolence Notice With the Congregation?

Condolence notices are included in the pastoral weekly emails when members and regular attendees experience the loss of an immediate family member. Service details can be shared as well, if desired. To notify the church of such a loss, contact the receptionist at 612-455-0800.
