Global Outreach
The Global Outreach ministry of The North Church exists to steward our people and resources to make disciples of Christ by planting and strengthening local churches among the nations for the glory of God.
The North Church primarily seeks to carry out this mission by sending current active members to engage in long-term vocational gospel ministry that emphasizes planting and strengthening local churches.
We currently have 27 units throughout North America, South America, Africa, Europe, and Asia.
Ways Our Church Cares, Supports, and Prays
-
At The North Church, we have a group of people that assist the elders in preparing, sending, and caring for our global partners. The team meets to hear from global partners on home assignment or to evaluate prospective partners who have completed the Nurture Program. Members of our GO team have a heart for supporting global partners in a significant way and have had cross-cultural experience themselves.
-
A Barnabas Team is a small group of 6ā12 committed people who come together to care for a global partner or global partner family. The support and encouragement takes a variety of forms as they strive to help meet physical, emotional, and spiritual needs. It is a group of people with whom the global partner can be open and honest, allowing them to see his or her needs and to share in successes and defeats.
-
We use prayer calendars to pray for one global partner unit or unengaged people group each week. If you are interested in knowing more about our global partners, this is an excellent resource to help you know where they are and what they are doing.
-
The Global Diaconate (GD) exists to strategically steward the resources of our church to serve the poorest of the poor around the world. The aim of this committee is to partner with our global partners and other trusted connections to address poverty and crisis issues on a larger scale by disbursing strategic financial grants to ministries in the name of Jesus Christ.
2026 Quarter 1 Gifts:
A grant was given to the Moes (global partners in Papua New Guinea) to be used for a solar powered projector and a library to be used in the primary schools in their very remote target area. This was paired with printing costs for copies of a Bible story book that they created in the Domung language. Both will be used to improve literacy among the Domung people.
A grant was given to a ministry that serves the underground church in Iran. It will be used for emergency relief supplies like food, water, medical supplies, and assistance for families impacted by arrest, job loss, or displacement.
We work with our church members to develop, assess, and affirm them for long-term ministry overseas.
