Global Outreach

The Global Outreach ministry of The North Church exists to steward our people and resources to make disciples of Christ by planting and strengthening local churches among the nations for the glory of God.

The North Church primarily seeks to carry out this mission by sending current active members to engage in long-term vocational gospel ministry that emphasizes planting and strengthening local churches.

We currently have 34 units throughout North America, South America, Africa, Europe, and Asia.

Ways Our Church Cares, Supports, and Prays

  • At The North Church, we have a group of people that assist the elders in preparing, sending, and caring for our global partners. The team meets to hear from global partners on home assignment or to evaluate prospective partners who have completed the Nurture Program. Members of our GO team have a heart for supporting global partners in a significant way and have had cross-cultural experience themselves.

  • A Barnabas Team is a small group of 6–12 committed people who come together to care for a global partner or global partner family. The support and encouragement takes a variety of forms as they strive to help meet physical, emotional, and spiritual needs. It is a group of people with whom the global partner can be open and honest, allowing them to see his or her needs and to share in successes and defeats.

  • We use prayer calendars to pray for one global partner unit or unengaged people group each week. If you are interested in knowing more about our global partners, this is an excellent resource to help you know where they are and what they are doing.

Ways Our Church Equips and Sends

We work with our church members to develop, assess, and affirm them for long-term ministry overseas.

Global Outreach Events

Global Focus

Every October we have a Global Focus week, where we turn our eyes to the nations and God’s plan for missions. Highlight of this week is our Global Focus Kickoff event, which includes a meal, worship, and family-friendly activities.

Prayer for the Persecuted Church

Every second Friday a group of people gathers to pray for the persecuted church at 7pm in room A200. All are welcome to attend!

Rope Holders

Rope Holders provides a unique opportunity for women to pray together for the specific needs of our global partners and for God to continue to make his name known among the nations. Every second Monday at 7pm one or two of our global partner women join us to share about their lives and ministry.
