Preparing a Generation
We need just over 100 equipped ministry partners to partner with us in our mission to capture children’s hearts and imaginations for Jesus–grounded in the goodness of God’s word. We’re preparing for this fall, and we hope you will join us. Join us as we build teams, develop leaders, and invest in the joy of the next generation (Ephesians 4:12).
Our mission is simple—to show children Jesus (2 Corinthians 3:18).
Will you join us in reaching and training the next generation in the joy of knowing Jesus?
Here’s what you need to know about our ministry.
Jesus-centered: In our children’s discipleship ministry, we believe that the most important topic children can learn about is Jesus.
Family context: We believe that God placed children in families by design, and no ministry to children is complete without engaging and equipping parents.
Excellence in all things: We believe that pursuing excellence in our ministry is essential to honor and glorify God!
We train you: We know that serving in children’s ministry can be intimidating, so we offer training and coaching to help bridge that gap.
We are learners: We believe that none of us are too experienced to continue learning. Pastors too!
Ministry Partner Roles
Our ministry runs on small group leaders. Classroom ministry teams include several different roles that assist and empower our small group leaders, but our small group leaders are where the rubber meets the road in our child discipleship.
Small group leaders are critical in connecting the truths of God’s word with children’s hearts.
And we know how intimidating leading a small group of children can be—which is why we will train you. It’s also why we have a team leader for each class who is there to provide coaching and support. Classroom teams include diverse ministry roles because God has uniquely gifted his church with varied skills which can all be used to reach the next generation for Christ.
Our classroom teams include the following ministry roles:
-
Go deep with a consistent small group of 6–9 children.
Help children experience belonging and being known in church.
Help children connect the Bible to their lives.
Help children connect with one another.
-
Lead with encouragement and support for your team of ministry servants.
Set the tone of the team, timeliness, culture, and growth.
Connect with parents and be an advocate for their children.
-
Teach the large group lesson.
Love to dig into God’s word and bring it to life for children.
Show children Jesus.
-
Lead children into worshiping God through song and Scripture.
Shepherd children and teachers into Christ-exalting joy.
-
Be partnered with a child with special needs to help him or her participate in class.
Be an advocate by connecting and engaging with parents and teachers to help us serve each child to the best of our abilities.
-
Fulfill a vital role in providing a safe and loving environment for kids.
Pray for kids by name.
Teach kids about God in age-appropriate ways, giving them early exposure to the gospel, Bible songs, and memory.
