Brian Hanson
Elder
Brian has been a member since 2017 and has served as an elder since 2021. It is his joy to serve through directing the worship choir and teaching Joint Heirs. His desire is to see each member growing in grace and in the knowledge of Jesus Christ (2 Pet 3:18) through intentional discipleship, including expressing their musical skills for the glory of God and for the blessing and edification of the body.
Brian is a professor of church history at Bethlehem College and Seminary and is an author. His primary historical interests are the Protestant Reformation, Puritanism, and the early Particular Baptists. He is a published choral composer and enjoys writing his own texts as well as composing new tunes for and arranging older hymn texts.
Brian is married to Johanna, and they have five children. He enjoys reading, listening to and playing classical music, and spending time with his family exploring the Minnesota outdoors.
