Administrative Assistant for Worship & Receptionist: This 15 hours per week role provides administrative support to our worship ministries and partially covers our generally quiet reception desk on Tuesdays (9 am to 5 pm) and Fridays (9 am to 1 pm).

Responsibilities

Worship Administration Responsibilities: 

Coordinate the worship service needs by:

  1. Creating the Order of Worship in Squarespace

  2. Keep ProPresenter up to date for Sundays and Wednesdays

  3. Schedule platform personnel through Planning Center

  4. Communicating with the communion coordinator, as needed

  5. Assisting in scheduling for other service roles, as needed

  6. Copying music, ProPresenter slides and bulletins

  7. Assisting with choir communications, music ordering, and annual scheduling

  8. Assisting with orchestra scheduling, music copying & communication 

  9. Scheduling occasional piano tuning 

  10. Keeping our music catalog up to date and filing music as needed

  11. Seasonally, helping with Summer Connections and special seasonal services

  12. Coordinate and assist the church decor team, including ordering flowers for Easter and Mother’s Day

  13. Help the Pastor for Worship with the following weekly tasks:

    1. Format and copy weekly Sunday worship large print bulletins in-house.

    2. Sending music to worship teams

    3. Create and print half-sheet orders of service for the worship team.

    4. Print sermon manuscripts for the hearing impaired.

    5. Email the sermon manuscripts to the small group leaders.

    6. Scheduling meetings

Receptionist Role:

Receptionist (two days per week):

This role is shared with a primary receptionist who covers the desk Mondays, Wednesdays, & Thursdays (9:00 am - 5:00 pm) and covers the administrative responsibilities of the role. This role covers the desk on Tuesdays (9:00 am - 5:00 pm) and Fridays (9:00 am - 1:00 pm), primarily responding to the needs of the generally light needs of phone and door.  As needed, this position will work with the other Receptionist to ensure that the reception desk is covered Mondays through Thursdays, 9am to 5pm and Fridays from 9am to 1pm, and that the administrative responsibilities for the role are covered. These include: 

  1. Reception

    1. Answer telephone and door, directing all individuals to the appropriate staff member.

    2. Keep the waiting area, workroom, conference rooms and general office area neat.

    3. Assist the Adult Discipleship department in keeping the staff aware of hospitalizations and other helpful news / prayer / ministry requests / cards of encouragement.

    4. Respond to or forward to the appropriate staff member any voicemail messages from the general voice mailbox.

    5. Be available to help staff use office equipment, and make sure it is kept in good working order.

  2. As needed, partner with the other Receptionist to see that the desk is covered and administrative tasks are fulfilled.

  3. Perform other duties as assigned.

Church Member

  2. While ensuring first loyalty is to God and the Word, support the leadership of the church generally and specifically for one’s area of ministry. Strive to maintain positive and fruitful relationships with other church employees, members, and leaders. While concerns or differences of opinion may arise, all employees will communicate in a biblical manner and abide by appropriate supervisory direction and any final determinations of the Council of Elders.

Potential Pay & Benefits for this Role:

  1. Preferred Start Date: early to mid-January

  2. Hourly Rate: $17-$18
