At The North Church we want to help you build a solid and lasting foundation for your marriage - one that will glorify God and deepen your joy. If you’re considering marriage, engaged to be married, or currently married and want a refresher, we invite you to attend our Foundations for Marriage class. During this class we’ll take time to look at God’s Word, answer your questions, and provide you with opportunities as a couple to interact together. Topics addressed will include the gospel and marriage, roles in marriage, communication,  conflict, and sexual intimacy.

Date/Time: The class will take place from 9:00am-3:30pm on two successive Saturdays, February 22nd and March 1st, 2025.

Location: The class will be held at The North Church (5151 Program Avenue, Mounds View 55112) in the Commons.

Cost: The cost for this class is $60/couple and will cover snacks and lunch (including gluten free options) for both Saturdays as well as all class materials. For those requiring financial assistance, a limited number of scholarships are available upon request.

Instructor: The class will be led by our Pastor for Counseling, Brian Liechty. During the second Saturday of the class, there will be a Q+A panel discussion involving three of our elders with their wives.

Event Contact: If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out to Lulu Robinson, Administrative Assistant for Counseling.

Additional note for engaged couples who attend The North Church: This class is not meant to take the place of premarital counseling nor does it guarantee that the church will marry you.  However, it will provide the 12 hours of premarital education required by the state to receive a discount on your marriage license and will significantly reduce the amount of time that you meet with a pastor or licensed minister for premarital counseling. In most cases, those who take this class will only need 2-3 sessions of premarital counseling. We recommend you take this class first and then contact the church office to coordinate your premarital counseling.

Registration: Open now through February 14, 2025. Register here
